SUMMARY:Workshop 2: clarifying the Commission's requests for a Suitable Alternative Generally Applicable (SAGA) - The Authorisation applications of chrome plating with decorative character
DESCRIPTION:The Authorisation applications of chrome plating with decorative character challenged by regulators \nCETS and Eurometaux would like to invite applicants\, their consultants and Decorative chrome plating representatives to a series of 2 web-based workshops to clarify the challenged authorisation applications. \nIn order to help industry solve this uncertainty\, CETS (the European organisation representing platers) and Eurometaux would like to invite you for a series of 2 clarification webinar workshops aiming at: \n\ncollecting the different applicants’ views on the requests in the Commission’s letter\,\nhaving a debrief on SEAC’s first discussion on the SAGA concept and\nhelping in aligning views to increase the potential for a successful reply.\n\nThe two webinars are planned as follows: \n\nA first workshop scheduled for Thursday 28 May from 13:30 to 16:45 (CEST)\, where applicants could give short presentations*\nA second workshop on Thursday 18 June from 13:30 to 16:00 (CEST) whereby we would report on the ECHA SEAC discussion and discuss / promote alignments of the applicants’ views\n\nWho can attend the webinars and what is expected? \nThe webinars are organised to help the applicants and the users concerned\, but also to progress with the thinking on the concepts proposed in the Commission’s letter. We therefore invite applicants and their consultants as well as companies applying and main user sector representatives. ECHA considers the webinars important and will participate in them. The Commission is invited to attend as an observer to listen to the presentations and discussions. \nFor the first webinar all applicants or their representatives/consultants are invited to briefly explain their views* on the identification of “utilisation” and interpretation of the SAGA concept as raised in the Commission letter.  This would help us all to develop / promote suggestions for alignment. \nPlease complete the registration form if you are interested in participating in any of both webinars by using the following link:  https://form.jotform.com/201354624127347 \nA detailed agenda for both webinars as well as call-in instructions and *suggestions for the brief explanations of applicants’ views\,  will be mailed by Monday 25 May to all registered parties.

SUMMARY:CETS meetings 2020 - General Assembly
DESCRIPTION:The Coronavirus has the world in its grip. Almost all EU countries take strict measures to prevent the further spread of the virus.\nWe feel compelled to organize the CETS meeting\, which was scheduled for 16 and 17 April in Paris\, in a different way. The meetings will be organized via an online platform so that all members can participate from their own place of residence. No travel is needed.\nIn this way\, we take up our civil duty. Even when economy runs down\, we need to be positive about the future. There is still life during and after Corona.\nIn the meantime\, we wish everyone a good health in a safe environment.

SUMMARY:SURFACE FINISHING 4.0
DESCRIPTION:On November 22\, 2018 the VOM will assemble a group of internationally renowned speakers with academic and/or industrial background at the premises of AGFA in Mortsel (Antwerp). This year we will further elaborate on the successful theme of our 2016 VOM event\, “Raise your Game”\, i.e. explore how SME’s in surface treatment can further increase their competitiveness in tomorrow’s industrial environment. One of our CETS-collegues\, Stefan Wahlerssonn\, will join us and speak about automation in electroplating of fasteners and other volume components. \n\n\nTHIS EDITION OF THE VOM NETWORKING EVENT WILL ANALYSE HOW PERSEVERANCE IN PROCESS DIGITISATION WILL ENHANCE THE PRODUCTIVITY.\nSurface finishing 4.0 looks beyond investment in ERP systems or the use of remote sensors or control instruments. It also involves a new sales paradigm. The factories of tomorrow will not just sell machines or products but generate business from total service concepts. The coating industry will deal with complete coating systems rather than with mechanical components and chemistry. Manufacturers will become providers of decentralised services\, using and based on persevered digitisation. \nSURFACE FINISHING 4.0 IS NO FICTION BUT A NEARBY REALITY\, ALREADY BUILDING UP TODAY AND WITHOUT BEING NOTICED!
