Regulatory change with direct industrial implications
The European regulatory framework for chromium trioxide (CrO3) is undergoing significant change. Potential restrictions under REACH and revised occupational exposure limits for hexavalent chromium, Cr(VI), raise important questions for European companies that depend on chromium trioxide in their operations and supply chains.
Chromium trioxide remains essential to a vaste number of critical downstream applications in Europe. A substantial tightening of the regulatory framework could therefore have far-reaching consequences for users, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises and strategically important sectors such as aerospace and defence.
Supported by CETS, the European Committee for Surface Treatment, this ICDA workshop will bring together users and other key stakeholders to examine the potential implications of these developments and discuss the challenges facing European industry.
