Coordinated Advocacy for Complex Regulatory Files

Posted on

CETS is expanding its network of institutional and advocacy contacts, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between organisations facing similar regulatory challenges.

In this context, CETS is taking part in discussions connected to the other consortium on the Cr(VI) consortium initiative. This provides an important opportunity to exchange views with other organisations and to explore possible areas of cooperation.

This activity is particularly relevant because many European regulatory files affect the surface treatment sector from different but connected perspectives. REACH, Cr(VI), PFAS, occupational exposure limits, IED, STM BREF/BAT conclusions, CLP and worker-safety requirements are increasingly interlinked and may create overlapping obligations for companies.

For this reason, CETS considers cooperation with other industrial and advocacy organisations essential. Fragmented messages risk weakening the position of industry, while coordinated and technically grounded advocacy can help institutions better understand real process conditions, industrial feasibility and the cumulative impact of regulatory measures.

Further cooperation opportunities are being explored through the involvement of CETS Board members, including contacts with other national and European organisations active in related sectors.

By strengthening its network, CETS is working to promote more consistent messages across different institutional channels and to support a realistic, evidence-based regulatory transition for the surface treatment industry.
